“As a Facilitator, my approach is always tenant-led, practical and rights-based. I listen carefully, understand what is important to the person, and support them in a way that strengthens their voice, choice and control.”
My passion for working in the disability sector comes from my own lived experience and a commitment to removing barriers for people with disability. I believe everyone should have real choice and control over their lives and receive support that reflects what matters to them.
I’m also passionate about advocacy that drives broader systemic change, ensuring people with disability are not only included but genuinely heard, respected and empowered.
What I value most about working at Enliven Community is its people-centred approach. The work focuses on listening to tenants, understanding what matters to them, and supporting them to have a greater say in decisions about their everyday lives. I also appreciate the strong focus on trust, relationships and respectful communication.
Career highlight
One of my career highlights has been working across the disability sector in ways that bring lived experience into practice. I have had the opportunity to contribute to advocacy, consultation, accessible communication and sector work that aims to improve outcomes for people with disability.
Outside of work
For fun, I love travelling, skiing, spending time with family and friends, and being near the beach. I also enjoy going out for coffee or dinner, exploring new places and spending time with my two dogs.
What super-power would you want?
I would love the ability to teleport so I could see different parts of the world whenever I feel like it. It would be amazing to skip all the travel logistics and just appear somewhere new, whether that is a beach, a city, the snow or somewhere completely different for the day.
